Products Description
Hematite/Iron Ore, Iron ore,s Magnetite Iron ores/Iron ores Pellets, Lump, and Fines Rocks and minerals that contain iron can be commercially mined to produce metallic iron. The ore typically contains a high concentration of iron oxides and can range in hue from rusty red to bright yellow to dark grey. The iron itself is typically found in the forms of siderite (FeO(OH).n(H2O)), goethite (FeO(OH)), magnetite (Fe3O4), hematite (Fe2O3), and limonite (FeCO3). 98% of the iron ore mined is used to create steel, making iron ore the primary raw material for pig iron, which is one of the main raw materials for steel production. Iron ore pellets are made by pelletizing iron ore fines and then indurating them in a furnace. As part of the making-of-steel process, these are often fed into a blast furnace or DRI plant.
