Iron is extracted from iron ore, a naturally occurring material. With nearly 95% of all metals produced worldwide, it is the metal that is utilised the most frequently. Steel, a product made from iron ore, is necessary for many sectors of the economy, including manufacturing, construction, and transportation. Typically, open-pit or underground mines are used to extract iron ore, which is subsequently treated to improve the iron content and remove impurities. Crushing, screening, washing, and magnetic separation are used in the processing of iron ore to get rid of impurities and raise the iron content to an acceptable level for steel manufacturing. Hematite and magnetite are the two primary varieties of iron ore. Compared to magnetite, which has a lower iron concentration of 30% to 40% but is more easily processed because of its magnetic characteristics, hematite is a high-grade ore with an iron content of 60% to 70%.
