Notably, the Hass variety accounts for more than 80% of the export markets for avocados globally, which indicates that this variety is in high demand. The Hass avocado fruit traces its roots to an avocado tree that Rudolph Hass planted in Southern California in the 1920s. He had planted the tree as an avocado seed and propagated it to maturity. This fruit has become a global sensation to many foodies due to its rich, buttery flavour and creamy texture.
