G4 Chilli

Green chilli is the unripe fruit of the Capsicum annuum plant, which is extensively used as a spice in numerous cuisines around the world. It is normally green in colour, though some kinds may mature to yellow or red. Green chilli is noted for its pungent and spicy flavour, which is due to the presence of a chemical called capsaicin. This chemical is also responsible for the heat sensation felt when eating spicy foods. Green chillies are commonly used in Indian, Mexican, and Thai cuisine to add spice and flavour to dishes such as curries, salsas, and stir-fries. They can be enjoyed raw, cooked, or both. Green chilli is a common component in salsas and dips, bringing a fiery bite to the dish. To make a basic salsa, finely cut it and blend it with tomatoes, onions and cilantro.
