How does the impurity profile in a Mayan Crude Oil listing affect refinery acceptance?

Refineries calculate yield based on sulfur content and metal concentrations found in the impurity profile. A listing that omits these details forces buyers to request a full assay before committing. Higher impurity levels typically lower the net price but increase refining costs, so the true value depends on your specific processing capabilities.

What specific UN number and packing group must accompany a liquefied natural gas shipment?

Liquefied natural gas carries a specific UN number that dictates handling procedures and vessel segregation rules. The packing group indicates the degree of danger during transport. You must confirm these codes match the safety data sheet provided by the seller to ensure the carrier accepts the booking without delays or additional fees.

Why does a quote for petroleum derivatives expire so much faster than other industrial goods?

The baseline value of petroleum derivatives tracks real-time feedstock prices, which fluctuate continuously during trading hours. Additionally, dangerous goods space on cargo ships is limited and subject to immediate availability changes. A quote held for more than twenty-four hours often becomes invalid due to these dual pressures.

How does choosing an ISO tank versus a drum impact the total landed cost?

ISO tanks eliminate secondary packaging costs and allow for higher volume per container, reducing the unit freight rate. However, they require specialized cleaning and inspection before loading, adding pre-shipment expenses. Drums incur higher packaging and handling costs but offer flexibility for smaller volumes and lower initial outlay.

What distinguishes a technical grade petroleum product from a food grade listing?

Technical grade products contain allowable impurities suitable for industrial use but may be unsafe for human contact. Food grade listings must meet strict purity standards and often require additional documentation proving compliance with health regulations. The CAS identity remains the same, but the impurity limits define the commercial use.

What must I verify about the safety data sheet before booking a dangerous goods shipment?

The safety data sheet must be formatted exactly as required by the destination country's regulatory body. Mismatches in hazard classification or emergency response information can lead to cargo rejection at the port. Ensure the UN number and packing group on the sheet align with the commercial invoice and packing list.

What specific information about lift capacity is critical when sourcing liquefied natural gas?

The lift capacity determines the maximum volume you can offload at your facility within a specific timeframe. Sellers may list total volume without specifying the transfer rate, leading to storage bottlenecks. Confirm the lift capacity matches your terminal's absorption rate to avoid demurrage charges for delayed offloading.
