Adsons forceps

During surgical procedures, Adson Forceps are used for holding gauze and cotton dressings, holding and manipulating fragile tissues, and other tasks. They can control and maintain a firm grip with their wide thumb grasp. Adson non-tooth forceps are employed to shift dressings or draping without the use of hands or fingers, to gently move tissues out of the way during exploratory surgery, to hold the tissue in place while sutures are being applied, and to hold the tissue in place while sutures are being removed. Adson forceps, which have a wide handle and a long, thin tip, are the most popular forceps type used in skin surgery. The fitting of one tooth on one tip into two teeth on the opposite tip is a typical configuration.
