SHEA CAKE/MEAL

Shea cake, also known as shea meal, is a byproduct produced after the extraction of shea butter from shea nuts. The resulting liquid is heated to extract the oils from the particles after the nuts have been crushed and roasted. Shea cake refers to the sediments that remain after the oil has been removed. Shea cake has a slightly bitter taste and is strong in protein and fibre. Because of its high nutrient content, it is frequently utilised as animal feed or as a natural fertiliser. Shea cake has antibacterial qualities and can be used to protect crops from pests and illnesses, in addition to its nutritional value. Shea cake is often utilised as a soil conditioner in organic farming practises.It is also utilised as a cuisine ingredient in various African countries, particularly in soups and stews. Shea cake is pounded into a powder in some cultures and used to porridge or other foods as a source of protein and fibre.
