Launcher (MEDTRONIC)

The narrowed or stenotic portion of the coronary artery of the heart caused by coronary atherosclerosis is treated therapeutically using a Launcher Guiding Catheter. A range of patient anatomy can be accommodated by the various forms and sizes of guide catheters. For access to the coronary ostium and the delivery of support materials, guide catheters are necessary for all coronary procedures. The optimum guide offers stability for device progression across the coronary architecture, minimizes vascular trauma, and permits vessel opacification. A route for the introduction of therapeutic devices is provided by the guiding catheter. The coronary or peripheral vascular system is intended for use with the guiding catheter.
