East Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO)

An oil pipeline called the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) connects Russia's East Siberian oil reserves with the Pacific Ocean. One of the longest oil pipelines in the world, it provides a significant amount of oil to the Asia-Pacific region. The ESPO pipeline was built to move crude oil from the East Siberian oil fields to the Pacific coast of Russia. Up to 1.6 million barrels of oil can be transported daily through the pipeline, which has a total length of more than 4,000 kilometers. The pipeline was finished in 2010, and since then, China, South Korea, and Japan have relied heavily on it as a key supplier of oil for the Asia-Pacific area. Comparing the ESPO pipeline to other oil transportation strategies like shipping, there are several benefits. Because of the lack of shipping and lower chance of oil leaks, it is a more effective and economical way to transfer oil. Additionally, it offers the Asia-Pacific area, a significant oil consumer, and a steady supply of oil.
