How does chemical assay differ from particle size distribution in Lithium Ore listings?

Chemical assay defines the concentration of lithium compounds, which determines the selling price per tonne. Particle size distribution affects how the material flows during loading and how it reacts in processing. One metric drives the commodity value while the other drives the handling logistics. You must check both because a high-grade ore with poor sizing may incur extra processing fees at the destination.

What radiation screening data is required for Iron Ore Pellets from Zimbabwe?

Importing countries require gamma spectrometry results to ensure natural radioactive elements are within safe limits. The seller must provide a recent certificate from an accredited lab. This screening happens before the cargo is loaded, not after it arrives. Without this specific data, the destination port will reject the shipment immediately due to safety protocols.

When does a mineral export licence become invalid for shipping?

The licence is tied to a specific shipment volume and a validity window, usually thirty days. If the cargo does not clear customs within that period, the licence expires. You must align your shipping schedule with the licence dates. Delays in documentation or port congestion can render the permit useless, requiring a new application and fee.

Why does density matter more than volume for Ores and Minerals?

Minerals are heavy and dense, so they often hit the weight limit of a container before filling the space. You pay for the weight capacity, not the volume. If the density is low, you might ship empty space. Calculating the stowage factor helps you choose between break-bulk vessels and containers efficiently.

How does ash content affect the smelting charge for Ores and Minerals?

Ash is the non-combustible or non-metallic residue that dilutes the valuable metal content. Smelters charge a penalty based on the percentage of ash or silica. High ash content increases the energy required to extract the metal. Buyers deduct this penalty from the base price, so lower ash means a higher net price.

What happens if the moisture level exceeds the limit in bulk shipments?

Excess moisture turns dry ore into a slurry that can damage container floors or shift cargo. It also adds dead weight that you pay for but cannot sell. Many contracts specify a maximum moisture percentage, often around eight percent. If the cargo arrives wet, the buyer may reject it or demand a significant price reduction.

How do you verify the mill test certificate matches the physical lot?

The certificate must list the unique batch or lot number that corresponds to the shipping documents. You compare the assay results on the paper against the independent inspection report taken at the loading port. Any discrepancy between the two documents indicates a potential substitution or error. This verification step is critical before releasing payment.
