Question 1

How does the construction method separate a rigid box from a collapsible one in Packaging Products?

Accepted Answer

The construction method defines the structural integrity and assembly type of the packaging. Rigid boxes use set-up board that maintains its shape without folding, while corrugated boxes rely on flute profile and board weight for strength. Buyers must check the material specification to see if the listing describes a folding carton, a rigid set-up box, or a corrugated container. The unit of sale often differs based on whether the item ships flat or pre-assembled, which impacts handling and storage requirements at the destination.

Question 2

What material safety proof does a destination require for Pharmaceutical Packaging Boxes from the United States?

Accepted Answer

Pharmaceutical packaging requires specific material safety data to prove the container will not interact with the drug content. Buyers need documentation confirming the material is inert and meets food or drug contact migration limits. Flammability standards may also apply if the packaging includes plastic components or labels. The listing should specify if the material has been tested for compatibility with the intended pharmaceutical use, ensuring no chemical leaching occurs during storage or transport.

Question 3

Why does a quote for BOPP Tape expire when shipping-season congestion hits?

Accepted Answer

BOPP Tape pricing is sensitive to resin costs and container availability. When shipping-season congestion occurs, container space becomes scarce, driving up freight rates. A quote that does not account for these logistics fluctuations will become invalid quickly. Buyers should verify if the quoted price includes current freight surcharges or if it is based on standard volumetric weight calculations that may change during peak periods.

Question 4

How does pack configuration affect the volumetric weight calculation for Thermocol Boxes?

Accepted Answer

Thermocol Boxes are extremely light but have low density, meaning they occupy a large volume relative to their mass. The pack configuration determines how efficiently the boxes can be stacked in a container. Buyers must compare the listed dimensions against the container's cubic capacity to estimate the true volumetric weight. A loose pack configuration will result in higher freight charges per unit than a tightly packed or nested configuration.

Question 5

What labelling rules apply to Oil Drum & Barrel exports from the United States?

Accepted Answer

Oil Drum & Barrel exports often require specific labelling to indicate contents, hazards, and handling instructions. If the drums are used for hazardous materials, UN-rated labelling is mandatory. Even for empty drums, previous content information must be removed or clearly marked as empty. The destination country may have additional requirements for recycling symbols or material identification codes on the drum surface.

Question 6

How does the finish of a PP Leno Bag impact its suitability for agricultural use?

Accepted Answer

The finish of a PP Leno Bag determines its resistance to UV degradation and moisture absorption. Agricultural products often require bags with specific UV stabilizers to prevent breakdown during outdoor storage. The weave tightness and finish also affect the bag's breathability, which is critical for produce like onions or potatoes. Buyers should specify the intended storage conditions to ensure the finish matches the environmental exposure.

Question 7

What does a listing typically leave out about the burst strength of cardboard Packaging Products?

Accepted Answer

Listings often omit the specific burst strength or edge crush test values for cardboard packaging. These metrics are critical for determining how much weight the box can support during stacking and transit. Buyers must ask for the paper grade and the test results to verify structural integrity. Assuming a standard strength based on the box name can lead to product damage if the actual burst strength is insufficient for the load.
