How do I verify the dimensional tolerance and thickness match my joinery specs?

Check the row details for the specific tolerances allowed for length, width, and thickness. Wood and Lumber from Taiwan often lists these in millimeters. If the listing does not state the tolerance, ask the seller for the manufacturing standard. Mismatched thickness causes delays in framing or flooring installation.

Which test certificates prove the timber meets local structural requirements?

Your destination building standard dictates which test certificates are required for strength. Some regions demand proof of load-bearing capacity, while others focus on fire resistance. Request the specific test report from the seller before the shipment departs Taiwan. Without these documents, customs may hold the cargo until you provide them.

Can I split my order to get different batch shade consistency levels?

Splitting an order usually results in different batch shade consistency because the wood comes from different cuts. Buyers lose visual uniformity across the project when they order in stages. Lock in the entire volume for a single shipment to ensure the wood matches across all panels or beams.

Why does weight limit matter more than volume for this cargo?

Wood and Lumber is heavy and dense, so the container hits its weight limit long before it is full. You cannot overload the container, even if there is empty space. Plan your loading strategy to maximize weight usage without exceeding legal road limits at the destination.

What packing method prevents breakage for dense lumber shipments?

Breakage is common if the lumber is not secured against shifting during the voyage. Use heavy-duty strapping and corner protectors to keep the bundles stable. Crating matters for fragile or high-grade finishes. Ask the seller how they secure the load before the container is sealed.

How does finish quality affect the usability of the wood?

Finish quality determines whether the wood needs additional sanding or staining after installation. A rough finish requires more labor and materials on site. Check the row for details on surface treatment. A smooth finish reduces your post-installation costs but may come at a higher base price.

What happens if the water absorption rate is too high for my climate?

High water absorption causes the wood to swell or warp in humid environments. Check the specification for the moisture content and absorption rate. Taiwan exports wood that is often dried to specific levels, but you must verify the final content matches your local humidity. Use wood that is rated for your climate to avoid structural failure.
