How does the CAS identity distinguish Sulphur from Sodium Sulphide in a listing?

The CAS identity provides the unique numerical identifier for the chemical compound. Sulphur and Sodium Sulphide have distinct CAS numbers that define their molecular structure. Buyers must verify this number to ensure they are quoting for the correct element rather than a compound. An incorrect CAS leads to incompatible chemical reactions and rejected shipments.

What impurity profile detail is critical for Silicon Wafer purity?

Silicon Wafer manufacturing demands ultra-high purity with specific trace element limits. The impurity profile lists metals like iron, aluminium, and copper at parts per billion levels. Even minor deviations in this profile ruin the semiconductor properties of the final wafer. Buyers must request the full trace analysis to match their fabrication tolerances.

Why does the safety data sheet format matter for Non Metallic Elements exports?

A generic safety data sheet is often rejected by destination customs. The document must follow the specific regulatory format of the importing country, including hazard classifications and emergency contact details. Mismatches in the UN number or packing group on the sheet cause immediate customs holds. Always verify the format before finalizing the commercial invoice.

How does packing group classification affect vessel acceptance for Sulphur Granules?

The packing group classification determines the stowage requirements on board the vessel. Sulphur Granules often fall under specific dangerous goods classes that restrict deck stowage or require separation from other cargo. Vessels with limited hazardous material capacity may reject bookings if the packing group does not match available slots. This constraint drives up freight costs during peak seasons.

What documentation proves facility registration for chemical exports from South Africa?

Exporters must provide proof of facility registration with the relevant chemical regulatory body. This documentation confirms that the manufacturing site adheres to safety and environmental standards required by the destination. Without this proof, the buyer cannot complete their own import registration. The registration number should appear on the commercial invoice or certificate of analysis.

How does the assay percentage impact the pricing of Non Metallic Elements?

The assay percentage defines the active content and directly drives the price per tonne. A higher assay percentage commands a premium due to reduced processing costs for the buyer. Sellers often quote based on a baseline assay, with adjustments for every percentage point deviation. Buyers must specify their minimum acceptable assay to receive an accurate quote for Silicon or Sulphur products.

What distinguishes a listing for Sulphur Granular from standard Sulphur powder?

The physical form affects handling, storage, and dissolution rates in chemical processes. Sulphur Granular flows more easily in bulk handling systems than fine powder, which poses dust explosion risks. The granulation process also removes certain volatile impurities found in raw powder. Buyers must specify the form to ensure compatibility with their existing storage silos and feeding equipment.
