How do ash and moisture levels in wood pellets affect my boiler efficiency?

Wood pellets with high ash content leave more residue in the combustion chamber, requiring more frequent cleaning and potentially damaging heat exchangers over time. Moisture levels above the specified limit reduce the net calorific value, meaning you burn more material to generate the same heat. Check the row for the exact moisture percentage and ash residue limits to ensure compatibility with your specific heating equipment.

What sulfur limits must I verify for diesel before ordering?

Diesel specifications vary significantly by destination market regulations. You must confirm the maximum allowable sulfur content, such as Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel standards, with your local environmental agency. The listing row should state the exact sulfur percentage. Importing fuel that exceeds your national limits can result in fines or rejection at customs, so verify this spec against your destination requirements before placing an order.

Does the posting date matter for petro coke quotes?

Petro coke prices track closely with global coal and steel market fluctuations. A listing posted weeks ago likely reflects an outdated price point. Always request a current quote to see if the price has moved. Relying on an old posting date can lead to significant budget discrepancies when you finally negotiate the final contract price.

Who covers inland transport for anthracite coal FOB quotes?

In an FOB quote, the seller delivers the anthracite coal to the named port and loads it onto the vessel. You are responsible for all costs from that point onward, including main carriage and insurance. However, inland haulage from the mine to the port is typically included in the seller's FOB price. Clarify the exact port name to ensure the inland transport cost is not excluded.

What phytosanitary documents are required for wood charcoal imports?

Wood charcoal is subject to strict biosecurity controls to prevent the introduction of invasive pests and diseases. Your destination country typically requires a phytosanitary certificate issued by the exporting country's plant protection organization. This document certifies that the wood charcoal has been treated or inspected. Verify this requirement with your customs broker before the seller ships, as missing certificates cause shipment delays.

How does unit of sale change the price comparison for fuel?

Fuel is often priced per metric ton, per liter, or per drum. A lower price per unit might look attractive but could hide higher logistics costs if the unit size is inefficient for your storage. Always convert all quotes to a common unit, such as cost per gigajoule or cost per liter, to make a direct and accurate comparison between different suppliers and product types.

What specification separates two diesel listings on this page?

Two diesel listings may appear similar but differ in critical properties like cetane number, cold flow point, or lubricity. These specs determine how the fuel performs in your engine under specific temperature conditions. Always compare the detailed technical parameters on each row rather than just the product name. A slight difference in cetane number can significantly affect engine performance and emissions compliance.
