What should I include in a first enquiry to get an accurate quotation?

State the specification with tolerances, the quantity you want per shipment, the delivery point and Incoterm you want quoted, the packing and labelling you need, your target lead time, and any certificate your market requires. Then ask for price, minimum order quantity, lead time, payment terms and how long the quote is valid. What is the difference between FOB and CIF, and which should I ask for?

Full payment in advance is normal only for small sample orders or for a supplier you have a history with. Always verify bank details through a channel you initiated yourself, because payment-diversion fraud works by sending a convincing revised invoice at exactly the moment you are expecting one.
