Question 1

How do Cosmetics Products listings differ from Garment & Fashion Accessories listings in Nigeria?

Accepted Answer

Cosmetics Products listings require ingredient declarations and regulatory compliance data specific to skin contact. Garment & Fashion Accessories listings focus on fabric composition, weave type, and sizing charts. A buyer looking for textiles must not browse the cosmetics branch because the required technical data is entirely different. The two branches operate under separate trade standards and inspection protocols.

Question 2

What goes wrong if you source Shea Butter under Garment & Fashion Accessories?

Accepted Answer

Shea Butter is a raw cosmetic ingredient, not a garment. Listing it under Garment & Fashion Accessories misleads buyers looking for textiles. You will encounter sellers who cannot provide the moisture content or purity levels required for cosmetic formulation. Always verify the sub-category matches the physical nature of the good to ensure the seller has the right expertise.

Question 3

What specific data does a Gems & Jewellery listing need that other branches do not?

Accepted Answer

Gems & Jewellery listings must state metal purity, gemstone cut, and clarity grades. These specifications are unique to precious materials and do not apply to textiles or cosmetics. A buyer sourcing jewelry needs these details to verify value. Without them, the listing is just a photo with no trade-relevant data for comparison.

Question 4

How do you distinguish a thin listing from a complete one in this category?

Accepted Answer

A thin listing often lacks the sub-category specific data required for quoting. In Cosmetics Products, this means missing ingredient lists. In Garment & Fashion Accessories, it means missing fabric weight or stitch type. A complete listing provides the technical parameters that allow a buyer to calculate landed cost accurately. If the technical data is absent, the quote will be unreliable.

Question 5

What is the costliest wrong assumption when buying Baobab products from Nigeria?

Accepted Answer

Buyers often assume Baobab is a single product line. It can be powder, oil, or fiber, each with different packing and handling requirements. Assuming it is powder when you need oil leads to incorrect quotes and unsuitable logistics. Verify the exact form of the Baobab product before requesting a price to ensure the seller can supply the correct variant.

Question 6

How does the sample process differ between Garment & Fashion Accessories and Gems & Jewellery?

Accepted Answer

Garment & Fashion Accessories samples require physical inspection of fabric hand-feel, stitching, and fit. Gems & Jewellery samples require verification of metal weight, stone setting, and finish quality. The inspection criteria are completely different. A buyer must request samples that match the specific trade standard of the sub-branch they are sourcing from.

Question 7

What packing difference matters for Shea Butter versus finished garments?

Accepted Answer

Shea Butter requires food-grade or cosmetic-grade containers that prevent oxidation and contamination. Finished garments require polybags or cartons that protect against moisture and tearing. Using garment packing for Shea Butter leads to product degradation. Always specify the correct packing standard for the sub-branch to ensure the product arrives in usable condition.
