How does the free fatty acid content in Shea Butter affect its use in cold cream formulations?

The free fatty acid content determines the stability of the emulsion when mixed with water-based ingredients. High acid levels can cause separation or rancidity in cold processes, making the batch unsuitable for lotions. Buyers must request the specific acid value from the seller to ensure compatibility with their formulation chemistry.

What specific documentation proves African Organic Black Soap meets heavy metal limits?

You need a Certificate of Analysis that explicitly lists lead, arsenic, mercury, and cadmium levels against the destination's maximum allowable limits. The title mentioning organic status does not guarantee purity, so the lab report is the only proof that the clay and ash base are safe for topical use.

Does the fractionation process for Shea Oil change the melting point requirement?

Yes, fractionation separates the liquid oils from the solid fats, creating a product that remains clear and liquid at lower temperatures. Standard unrefined butter solidifies below twenty degrees Celsius, so you must specify if you need the fractionated version for serums or the solid version for balms to avoid formulation errors.

How does vacuum packaging for Shea Butter influence the carton cube calculation?

Vacuum sealing removes air from the blocks, allowing tighter stacking in shipping containers and reducing the overall volume per ton. This compression directly lowers the freight cost because you pay for space, not just weight. Always ask for the packed dimensions per metric ton to calculate accurate freight charges.

Why is the peroxide value critical for exported Shea Butter batches?

The peroxide value measures the initial stage of oxidation, which indicates how fresh the fat is and its shelf life potential. High peroxide values signal rancidity, which ruins the scent and efficacy of any cosmetic product made from it. Buyers should reject batches exceeding the standard limit for cosmetic grade fat.

What labeling errors cause delays for African Organic Black Soap at customs?

Customs delays often occur when the ingredient list on the label does not match the declaration, particularly regarding the ash content or added botanicals. If the label claims organic but the declaration lists synthetic additives, the shipment is flagged for inspection. Ensure the INCI names match the actual formulation exactly.

How does the blend ratio of Shea Butter to Coconut Oil affect the final product texture?

The blend ratio determines the hardness and spreadability of the final balm or soap base. Higher shea content creates a firmer, more emollient texture, while more coconut oil increases lather and hardness but can be drying. Buyers must specify the desired ratio to ensure the seller provides the correct physical properties.
