How do ash and silica content affect the payable weight for Manganese Ore?

Ash and silica are inert impurities that do not contribute to the metal value. Buyers apply deductions to the gross tonnage based on the assay results for these specific contaminants. A higher silica percentage directly reduces the net payable weight, making the price per tonne appear lower than the market index suggests.

What does the mill test certificate verify for Lithium Ore shipments?

The mill test certificate provides the official chemical assay data for the specific lot being shipped. It confirms that the lithium content matches the grade stated in the commercial invoice. Without this document, the destination port will likely reject the cargo or impose expensive re-testing fees.

Why does scrap contamination matter for Copper Ore entry?

Scrap contamination introduces mixed materials that violate the purity standards required by smelters. Radiation and scrap-contamination screening at the destination port checks for foreign metals or debris. Exceeding the allowed scrap limit results in rejection or significant price penalties for the buyer.

How does density determine container usage for Iron Ore?

Density dictates whether the container fills by weight or by volume before it reaches its structural limit. Iron Ore is dense, so it often hits the weight limit before the container is physically full. This stowage factor forces a break-bulk arrangement or limits the tonnes you can load per container.

What is the difference between lump and fines for Gold Dust processing?

Lump sizes are larger pieces that may require crushing before processing, while fines are powders that settle quickly. The particle size distribution affects how the material is handled during loading and unloading. Buyers specify the required distribution to ensure compatibility with their existing extraction equipment.

Why do quotes for Nickel Ore expire within days?

Nickel prices track a volatile global commodity index that changes with daily market trading. Sellers hold quotes open for only a few days because the underlying metal value shifts rapidly. Waiting too long to confirm an order means the quoted price no longer reflects the current market reality.

How does moisture content impact the payable tonnage for Zinc Ore?

Moisture adds weight that the buyer does not pay for in the final settlement. The chemical assay determines the metal value, but excess moisture reduces the net dry weight. Buyers deduct the water weight from the gross tonnage before calculating the final payment based on the agreed metal price.
