Question 1

How does ash content in PETCOKE affect its industrial value?

Accepted Answer

Ash content represents the non-combustible residue remaining after PETCOKE burns. Higher ash levels reduce thermal efficiency and increase disposal costs for the end-user. Buyers must specify maximum ash percentages in their inquiry to ensure the material meets their boiler or kiln specifications. Sellers typically provide lab analysis reports detailing this percentage, which directly influences the unit price compared to lower-ash grades.

Question 2

What safety declaration is mandatory for Animal or vegetable fats?

Accepted Answer

Exporters must provide a declaration confirming the fats meet EU feed hygiene standards and are fit for animal consumption or industrial use. This document verifies the absence of prohibited materials like mammalian meat-and-bone meal if the destination restricts them. Without this declaration, customs authorities in the destination country will likely detain the shipment. The declaration must match the product name and batch details on the commercial invoice.

Question 3

Why do PET FLAKES quotes depend on color purity?

Accepted Answer

Color purity determines whether flakes can be used for food-grade recycling or only for industrial applications. Clear or white flakes command higher prices because they require less processing to remove contaminants. Colored or mixed flakes are cheaper but limited to non-food packaging or fiber production. Buyers should request specific color sorting percentages to get an accurate comparison between suppliers.

Question 4

How does bale size affect freight for PET FLAKES?

Accepted Answer

PET FLAKES are often compressed into large bales to reduce handling costs. The dimensions and weight of these bales determine how many fit on a pallet and into a container. Larger bales reduce packaging waste but may require special handling equipment at the destination port. Buyers need to confirm bale dimensions to calculate the exact volumetric weight and container utilization for shipping.

Question 5

What documentation proves the origin of Animal or vegetable fats?

Accepted Answer

Health certificates issued by the relevant veterinary authority in Italy are required to prove the fats are safe for import. These certificates detail the processing facility, production date, and intended use. Some destinations also require a certificate of origin to determine tariff rates. Ensuring these documents are pre-arranged prevents delays at the border and ensures the product clears customs without additional inspections.

Question 6

Does PETCOKE require special handling during sea freight?

Accepted Answer

PETCOKE can generate dust, which poses a safety and environmental risk during transit. Sellers often apply water sprays or chemical stabilizers to reduce dusting before loading. Buyers should check if the seller includes dust suppression in the quoted price. Additionally, stowage requirements may dictate that PETCOKE be kept away from moisture-sensitive cargo to prevent degradation or contamination of other goods in the container.

Question 7

How does packaging differ for retail pet supplies versus bulk fats?

Accepted Answer

Retail pet supplies like toys or feeders are packed in individual cartons with branding, requiring careful stacking to avoid damage. Bulk fats are shipped in drums or flexitanks, focusing on leak prevention and temperature control. The packaging method significantly impacts the landed cost, as retail packaging adds weight and volume without adding product value. Buyers must clarify the packaging type to avoid unexpected freight charges based on dimensional weight.
