Question 1

How does the protection standard and class differ for a 4 Ply Face Mask?

Accepted Answer

The protection standard defines the level of fluid resistance and bacterial filtration efficiency required for the mask. The class indicates whether it is intended for surgical use or general industrial protection. A higher class demands stricter material thickness and seal integrity. Buyers must verify the exact standard code listed on the row, as the term 4 Ply does not guarantee a specific performance level across different manufacturers.

Question 2

What batch traceability proof is needed for Israel exports of this mask?

Accepted Answer

The seller must provide documentation linking the specific shipment batch to the manufacturing facility's quality records. This traceability ensures the lot meets the notified-body or regulator approval standards of the destination market. Without complete batch records, the goods cannot clear customs as a medical device or approved PPE. The proof must cover the entire production run, not just the final packaging step.

Question 3

Why does the sterile designation change the shipping requirements?

Accepted Answer

A sterile 4 Ply Face Mask requires an intact sterile barrier to remain effective throughout transit. If the barrier is compromised by humidity or physical damage, the product loses its medical utility and cannot be sold as sterile. Non-sterile masks have no such barrier integrity constraints. The shipping method must therefore accommodate the specific storage conditions required to maintain sterility until the point of use.

Question 4

How does shelf life impact the validity of a quote for this mask?

Accepted Answer

Regulatory approval is the lead time, and these approvals expire on fixed dates that often align with shelf life limits. A quote is only valid if the batch being offered has sufficient remaining shelf life to meet the destination's minimum import requirements. If the batch is near expiration, the regulatory value drops significantly. Buyers must confirm the production date and expiry date on the listing to avoid stale quotes.

Question 5

What happens if the batch and expiry segregation is ignored in the shipment?

Accepted Answer

Mixing batches with different expiry dates or classes in a single shipment creates compliance risks at the destination port. Customs authorities may hold the entire container if they cannot verify the traceability of each individual box. Segregation ensures that the oldest stock ships first, preserving the overall shelf life of the lot. Failure to segregate can lead to rejection of the entire shipment, not just the non-compliant portion.

Question 6

Does the Jet Face Shield By Generic listing require the same compliance as a 4 Ply Face Mask?

Accepted Answer

No, a face shield is typically classified differently from a mask in most regulatory frameworks. The 4 Ply Face Mask requires specific fluid resistance and filtration standards, whereas a shield focuses on eye and face protection. The compliance documentation for a shield does not cover the filtration efficiency required for a mask. Buyers must treat these as distinct product categories with separate regulatory pathways and documentation requirements.

Question 7

What material thickness difference affects the grade of a 4 Ply Face Mask?

Accepted Answer

Material thickness directly influences the filtration efficiency and breathability of the mask layers. Thicker materials may offer higher fluid resistance but can reduce comfort for prolonged wear. The grade is determined by the combination of thickness and pore size, not just the ply count. Buyers should look for the grammage or thickness specification on the row to compare performance between different Israeli suppliers.
