Question 1

How does the moisture limit in sugar listings differ from the acid value in sunflower oil?

Accepted Answer

Sugar buyers look for moisture percentage and polarization values to determine purity and flowability during transport. Sunflower oil buyers track free fatty acid content and color values to ensure the oil has not oxidized or degraded. These are distinct chemical markers that serve different quality control purposes. A seller listing sunflower oil will never provide a polarization value, and a sugar seller will not list acid values. You must ask for the specific test result relevant to the product type, as neither metric applies to the other.

Question 2

What packing difference separates palm oil from Processed Food in these Iraq listings?

Accepted Answer

Palm oil typically ships in flexible intermediate bulk containers or bulk tankers, requiring specific cleaning and certification of the vessel prior to loading. Processed Food items usually require rigid cartons, pallets, or vacuum-sealed packaging to protect against physical damage and contamination. The handling requirements for liquid bulk are entirely different from dry goods. Misidentifying the packing type leads to incorrect logistics quotes and potential cargo rejection at the destination port.

Question 3

Which Iraq export document is specific to Processed Food versus raw oil exports?

Accepted Answer

Processed Food exports from Iraq often require health certificates or sanitary inspection reports issued by local authorities to confirm the goods are fit for human consumption. Raw oil exports may rely more on quality certificates issued by inspection agencies confirming the chemical composition. The documentation chain differs because the regulatory focus shifts from safety for processed items to purity for raw commodities. You must verify which certificate the seller holds for the specific branch you are sourcing from.

Question 4

Why is soyben oil handling different from palm oil in thin Iraq inventories?

Accepted Answer

Soybean oil and palm oil have different melting points and viscosity profiles, which affects how they are pumped and stored in export facilities. Palm oil solidifies at lower temperatures than soybean oil, requiring heated lines or insulated containers to maintain flow. Thin inventories in Iraq may not explicitly state whether the oil is refined or crude, which changes the handling requirements significantly. You must confirm the physical state and refining level of the oil to determine the correct logistics setup.

Question 5

What field on a row is worth negotiating for sunflower oil from Iraq?

Accepted Answer

Negotiate the specific acid value and color rating, as these directly impact the oil's shelf life and end-use suitability. The price per ton is standard, but the quality parameters determine whether the oil is suitable for frying or industrial use. Sellers may list a generic grade that does not reflect the actual batch quality. You must specify your acceptable acid value and color range in the enquiry to get a quote for oil that meets your technical needs.

Question 6

How do I word an enquiry so sugar and oil replies are comparable?

Accepted Answer

Structure your enquiry to request the specific test results for each product type, such as moisture for sugar and acid value for oil. Ask for the packing method and any temperature control requirements for each item separately. Do not group them in a single vague request, as sellers may reply with generic data. By asking for the distinct technical parameters for each product, you force the seller to provide comparable, specific data rather than broad generalizations.

Question 7

What happens if I source sunflower oil under the Processed Food branch?

Accepted Answer

Sunflower oil is a raw agricultural product, not a processed food item, so it falls outside the inspection and handling rules for that branch. Listings under Processed Food may imply packaging and safety standards that do not apply to bulk oil. This misclassification can lead to incorrect logistics planning and regulatory issues at the destination. You must source sunflower oil under the correct raw material or oil category to ensure the seller provides the right technical specifications and documentation.
