How does the moisture percentage in Copper Ore affect the final payable tonnage?

The contract specifies a maximum moisture limit, usually around ten percent. If the delivered Copper Ore exceeds this threshold, the buyer deducts the excess weight from the total payable amount. This ensures you only pay for the dry metal content rather than the water weight.

What specific data does the mill test certificate provide for Zinc Ore?

The mill test certificate confirms the zinc content percentage and lists any impurities like lead or cadmium. This document proves the chemical assay matches the physical lot. Without it, the destination customs authority will reject the entry because the assay data is unverifiable.

Why do quotes for Tantalite go stale so quickly compared to other goods?

Tantalite prices track a volatile global index driven by electronic component demand. Suppliers keep quotes open for only a few days because the underlying metal value can shift significantly in that window. You must confirm the order before the index moves against you.

How does the density of Iron Ore determine the shipping method?

Iron Ore is very dense, so it hits the vessel weight limit long before the hold fills up. This density means you cannot use standard containers for large volumes. You must arrange break-bulk shipping to move the tonnage efficiently without paying for unused volume space.

What is the consequence of scrap contamination in a Coltan Tantalite shipment?

The destination port requires a radiation and scrap-contamination screening report. If the screening detects non-mineral debris or radioactive material, the entire shipment faces rejection or costly reprocessing. You must ensure the mining and washing processes remove all foreign matter before loading.

How does silica content in Nickel Ore impact the chemical assay value?

Silica acts as an inert filler that dilutes the payable nickel content. A higher silica percentage means lower effective nickel yield per tonne. Buyers use the assay to calculate the exact deduction for silica, ensuring the price reflects only the valuable metal components.

What happens if the mineral export licence expires before the vessel sails?

The shipment cannot clear Colombian customs without a valid licence. If the document expires during the loading or transit period, the cargo gets stranded. You must align the licence validity period with the estimated time of departure to avoid demurrage charges and delays.
