How do I distinguish a Building Material & Equipment listing for structural steel from general hardware?

Look for references to specific steel grades, tensile strength values, and mill test reports in the listing details. Structural steel listings will explicitly state the material standard and mechanical properties required for load-bearing applications. General hardware listings typically describe surface treatments like galvanization or dimensions without citing structural performance metrics. If the listing lacks technical data sheets or grade specifications, it likely refers to non-structural items like bolts or brackets.

What specific packing detail must I verify for Glass & Ceramics Related Products exports?

Verify that the listing specifies the use of wooden crates with shock-absorbing materials rather than simple cardboard boxes. Glass and ceramics are brittle and require rigid packaging to prevent breakage during ocean transit. The listing should confirm whether palletization is included and if corner protectors are used. Inadequate packing leads to high breakage rates, so confirm the packaging standard before requesting a quote.

Why do quotes for Elevators & Escalators resist direct comparison?

Elevator quotes vary significantly based on control system type, drive mechanism, and cabin finish specifications. A listing may appear identical but differ in critical components like the motor brand or safety gear standards. Buyers must request detailed technical datasheets for the hoistway and machine room requirements. Without these specifics, quotes cannot be compared as they may include incompatible infrastructure needs.

What moisture content limit should I check for Wood and Lumber from China?

Check the listing for the specific moisture content percentage required for your destination's climate. Wood and Lumber exports often require kiln drying to prevent warping or mold during transit. The listing should state the equilibrium moisture content or drying method used. If this detail is missing, request it explicitly, as improper moisture levels can lead to rejection at the destination port.

How do I compare Heating, Air Conditioner & Ventilation units from different sellers?

Compare units based on their cooling capacity, energy efficiency ratings, and noise level specifications. These metrics are standardized but often omitted in brief listings. Request the full technical data sheet including voltage requirements and refrigerant type. Listings that only provide general descriptions lack the precision needed to ensure compatibility with your building's electrical and ductwork systems.

What technical specification is missing from most Elevators & Escalators listings?

Most listings omit the specific load capacity and travel speed required for your project. They also rarely detail the control system architecture or safety compliance standards. Buyers must ask for the detailed technical specifications including maximum load, number of stops, and door types. Without these details, the supplier cannot provide an accurate quote for the complete system installation.

How do I verify if a Line Pipe & Casing & Tubing listing meets my pressure requirements?

Check the listing for the specified pressure rating and material grade, such as API standards for oil country tubular goods. The listing should explicitly state the nominal pipe size, wall thickness, and threading type. If these details are absent, request the manufacturing standard and test reports. Pressure ratings are critical for safety and must match your project's design specifications exactly.
