Question 1

How do I distinguish between raw ore concentrates and fabricated metal products in this category?

Accepted Answer

The distinction lies in the processing stage and the required documentation. Raw ores and minerals are geological extracts that require assay certificates to prove chemical composition. Metal & Metal Products are processed or fabricated items that require technical data sheets for temper, alloy, or dimensions. Check the sub-category selection to determine which documentation path applies to your inquiry.

Question 2

What goes wrong when a buyer sources PMMA Acrylic Sheet from the wrong branch?

Accepted Answer

Buyers often list acrylic sheets under Metals because of the industrial nature of the material. This causes confusion because plastics require different handling and storage than steel or copper. The export documentation and packing standards for acrylic differ from those for metal products. Always verify the material class before requesting shipping terms to avoid mismatched logistics.

Question 3

What specific document proves the chemical composition for Ores and Minerals from Belarus?

Accepted Answer

For raw geological materials, the key document is the assay certificate or certificate of analysis. This report details the percentage of the desired element and the presence of impurities. Unlike fabricated metals where dimensions matter, ores are valued strictly by their chemical content. Ensure the seller provides recent assay data from an independent lab before committing to a quote.

Question 4

How does the land corridor from Belarus affect delivery timelines for scrap?

Accepted Answer

Belarus is a landlocked country, so all exports move through rail or road borders. This creates dependency on specific crossing points which can experience congestion. Scrap materials like PET bale or PU foam require robust packing to withstand long overland transit. Ask the seller about their preferred border crossing and current transit times to avoid delays.

Question 5

What mistake occurs when sourcing PU Foam scrap without specifying density?

Accepted Answer

Polyurethane foam scrap varies widely in density and hardness, which drastically affects its recyclability and value. A listing that simply says PU Foam scrap gives no indication of the material grade. You must request the density value and any binder content details. Without this, you cannot calculate the landed cost or determine if the material suits your recycling process.

Question 6

What packing standard applies to Plastic PET bottle Scrap for export?

Accepted Answer

PET bottle scrap is typically compressed into bales to minimize volume and protect the material. The bales must be tightly bound to prevent spillage during rail transport from Belarus. Loose scrap is rarely shipped due to contamination risks and handling inefficiencies. Verify the bale weight and wrapping method with the seller to ensure compatibility with your receiving equipment.

Question 7

What establishes the validity of a quote for PMMA Acrylic Sheet offcuts?

Accepted Answer

For acrylic offcuts or regrinds, the critical factor is the clarity and contamination level of the material. Unlike standard sheets, offcuts vary in size and edge quality. The quote must specify whether the material is virgin or recycled and the maximum allowable impurity level. Generic quotes for offcuts are often useless without these specific quality parameters defined in the listing.
