How does basis weight distinguish a Karvan-L Filler from a standard Sublimation Paper listing?

Basis weight measures the mass of the paper per unit area, directly impacting thickness and opacity. A Karvan-L Filler may have a different basis weight than Sublimation Paper, affecting how it absorbs ink or supports printing. Buyers must compare these values to ensure the physical properties match their production needs. Listings often omit this detail, so it must be requested explicitly to avoid receiving stock that is too thin or too heavy for the intended application.

What material safety data is required for paper products entering food-contact applications?

Destination markets require proof that the paper does not migrate harmful substances into food. This typically involves a declaration of compliance with local food safety regulations, such as FDA or EU standards. The seller must provide test results showing the absence of prohibited chemicals in the ink or coating. Without this documentation, customs may reject the shipment, leading to storage fees or destruction of the goods.

Why do Profiling Sheet prices fluctuate more than basic Maplitho Paper during peak seasons?

Profiling Sheets are often custom-cut to specific dimensions, making them more sensitive to material shortages. During peak retail seasons, demand for specialized finishes increases, driving up raw material costs. Basic Maplitho Paper is produced in standard rolls, allowing for more stable pricing through economies of scale. Buyers should expect tighter margins and faster quote expiration for custom-sized items during high-demand periods.

How does the pack configuration of Glass Matting affect the number of units per pallet?

Glass Matting is often rolled and wrapped in protective layers, which adds significant volume. The pack configuration determines how many rolls fit on a standard pallet without exceeding height limits. Buyers should calculate the total cubic meters per unit to compare shipping costs accurately. A denser pack configuration reduces the number of pallets needed, lowering the volumetric weight charge from the carrier.

What flammability test is typically required for construction-grade paper products in the EU?

The EU requires specific flammability data for materials used in building applications, such as Euroclass ratings. Sellers must provide test reports from accredited laboratories confirming the product meets these standards. Failure to provide this data can result in the shipment being held at the border. Buyers should verify that the test report matches the exact grade and finish of the listed product.

Does the Holland Model listing imply a specific core diameter for the paper rolls?

Yes, the Holland Model often refers to a specific mechanical setup or roll standard used in certain printing presses. This implies a precise core diameter and width that must match the buyer's machinery. If the core size differs, the rolls cannot be loaded onto the production line. Buyers must confirm the core specifications in the listing details or request them directly to ensure compatibility with their equipment.

What happens if the material safety declaration does not match the actual product composition?

Customs authorities may detain the shipment for further inspection, causing delays and additional costs. The buyer may be held liable for non-compliance, leading to fines or product recalls. It is critical to verify that the declaration accurately reflects the ink, adhesive, and substrate used. Any discrepancy between the documentation and the physical goods can result in the entire lot being rejected at the destination port.
