Question 1

How does Wet blue Leather differ from tanned leather in export requirements?

Accepted Answer

Wet blue leather is a semi-processed state that requires specific preservation during transit to prevent spoilage or color change. Tanned leather is stable and does not need the same immediate cooling or humidity controls. Buyers must confirm if the seller has already completed the chromium tanning process or if the goods are merely pickled and blue-stuffed. This distinction dictates whether you need cold chain logistics or standard dry container shipping.

Question 2

What packing difference separates Stevia Leaf from Chemicals & Allied Products?

Accepted Answer

Stevia leaf is an agricultural product that requires phytosanitary certification and moisture-controlled packaging to prevent mold and degradation during transit. Chemicals & Allied Products, such as reagents or industrial solvents, require hazardous material labeling and sealed containers to prevent leakage or contamination. The packing material for stevia is often food-grade bags or drums, while chemicals may require UN-rated containers depending on their classification.

Question 3

Why do quotes for BOPP Film Scrap from Argentina often expire quickly?

Accepted Answer

Quotes for BOPP film scrap often expire quickly because the availability of sorted polymer waste fluctuates with local recycling collection rates and seasonal production cycles. Unlike manufactured goods, scrap availability is not constant. A quote is valid only for a short window because the specific batch of sorted film may be sold to another buyer before your shipment can be arranged. Always check the listing date and ask for current availability.

Question 4

What documentation is critical for exporting Polyurethane Foam Scrap?

Accepted Answer

Polyurethane foam scrap requires documentation that confirms it is clean and free from contaminants that could violate destination recycling standards. Sellers must provide details on the foam density and whether it contains flame retardants or other additives. Export declarations must accurately describe the material as scrap rather than new foam to avoid misclassification at customs. Incorrect documentation can lead to rejection at the destination port.

Question 5

How does sourcing Petroleum from Argentina differ from Chemicals & Allied Products?

Accepted Answer

Petroleum products are energy commodities that require specific safety data sheets and tank container specifications for transport. Chemicals & Allied Products cover a wider range of substances, from solids to liquids, each with unique handling requirements. Petroleum shipments often involve bulk tankers or specialized rail cars, while chemicals might use ISO tanks or drums. The regulatory framework for petroleum is stricter due to its flammability and environmental impact.

Question 6

What mistake occurs when sourcing Industrial Machinery under this category?

Accepted Answer

Buyers often mistake general hardware listings for complex machinery that requires specific voltage, frequency, and safety certifications for their destination. Industrial Machinery from Argentina must be checked for compliance with local electrical standards and import regulations. Listings may omit critical details about installation, calibration, or after-sales support. Always verify the technical specifications and power requirements before requesting a quote to avoid incompatible equipment.

Question 7

What does a listing leave out by habit in Raw & Processed Leather?

Accepted Answer

Listings for Raw & Processed Leather often omit the specific curing method and salt content, which are critical for determining shelf life and transport conditions. Buyers must ask if the leather is chrome-tanned or vegetable-tanned, as this affects both the chemical handling requirements and the final product application. Sellers rarely state the exact moisture content or any pre-existing damage, which can lead to disputes upon arrival. Request detailed photos and technical sheets before committing.
