Turmeric

known as turmeric which is native to India and South Asia and is widely cultivated in India, China, Indonesia and tropical countries. It grows well in humid climates. The extract is taken from the rhizome which has a characteristic bright yellow color. Turmeric contains 0.3-5.4% curcumin, a yellow orange essential oil consisting mainly of turmerone, atlantone and zingiberone. Curcumin provides 95% of curcuminoids. Also contains sugar, protein, vitamins and minerals.
