Shell and tube heat exchangers are the two most common types of heat exchangers and can be found throughout the industry. Heat exchangers made of shell and tube have a simple design, stable performance, and low acquisition and maintenance expenses. They have an efficient heat transfer as well, although taking up more room than a plate heat exchanger with equivalent thermal exchange potential.
