Scissors

Scissors are useful tools for slicing through a variety of thin materials, including paper, cardboard, metal foil, fabric, rope, and wire. For various specialized uses, there are many different kinds of shears and scissors. The cutting tool known as scissors is composed of two opposite metal blades that meet and cut when the handles at their ends are brought together. Shears are occasionally used to refer to large-sized scissors. There are two different types of modern instruments: spring shears have a C-shaped spring connection at the handle ends, while pivoted blades, which are more common, have a rivet or screw connection between the cutting ends and the handle ends.
