MAP Fertilizer

MAP fertilizer is monoammonium phosphate fertilizer. It is an important substance in agricultural purposes as a source of nitrogen and phosphorus. DESCRIPTION With nutrients include P2O5 (52%) and ammoniacal nitrogen (11%); MAP is often used to add the required proportion of phosphate and nitrogen needed for farming clover, wheat, and barley, especially in sandy soil TYPICAL APPLICATIONS MAP is a high analysis source of phosphorus and low level of nitrogen, which makes it useful as a ‘starter’ fertilizer. It is recommended for most crops and vegetables. HAZARDS AND SAFETY MAP is considered biodegradable and is taken up as a nutrient by vegetation. Large spills can harm or kill vegetation. May release ammonium ions in the water system that are toxic to fish. May release phosphates which will result in algae growth, increased turbidity, and depleted oxygen in water systems.
