Jordan Silica Sand

Glass sand (silica sand or quartz sand): Glass sand is pure white sandstone containing a high percentage of silica (SiO2 more than 99%) that consists mainly of quartz metal granules, and a small amount of impurities and heavy metals (less than 0.1%). The term glass sand is based on silica sand, which has physical and chemical characteristics suitable for the glass industry. For example, the size of the granules, which is usually between 100 - 500 microns and the ratio of iron oxides (FE2O3) is less than 0.05%. Silica sand is found in several parts of southern Jordan. Its consider to be a natural stock like other resourcing that can be extracted from sand, which is silica or quartz sand - whose material value increases after converting it from cheap raw material to some natural stock as phosphates. Although sand covers a wide area of the Arab world, the exploitation of its stocks of natural resources is still weak. One of these neglected resources is silica sand, from which the electronic circuits and fiber optics are manufactured and used in many other medical and scientific applications.
