Question 1

How do I distinguish between a raw Cofee listing and a processed product in this tree?

Accepted Answer

Raw Cofee listings typically describe the bean condition, such as parchment or hulled, and focus on moisture content and defect counts. Processed products, often filed under Agriculture Products but distinct in trade, will specify roast levels, grind size, or packaging format. Check the sub-category carefully, as raw beans require different phytosanitary checks than roasted goods.

Question 2

What packing difference separates raw Peanuts from processed kernels in Zaire?

Accepted Answer

Raw Peanuts are usually packed in jute or polypropylene bags that allow for ventilation and moisture control during transport. Processed kernels often require vacuum-sealed or nitrogen-flushed packaging to prevent rancidity. The listing should specify the packaging material, as this affects storage life and handling requirements at the destination port.

Question 3

Why is sourcing Coconut oil under raw Agriculture Products a mistake?

Accepted Answer

Coconut oil is a processed fat that requires different handling than raw nuts. It is often stored in bulk tanks or flexi-tanks, whereas raw nuts are packed in bags. Sourcing it under raw products may lead to quotes for unrefined oil that does not meet your refinement standards. Verify the processing stage in the listing details.

Question 4

What documentation does Zaire require for Cacao powder exports?

Accepted Answer

Cacao powder requires a phytosanitary certificate to confirm it is free from pests and diseases. The listing should indicate if the powder has been heat-treated, which affects the certification process. Buyers must ensure the seller can provide the necessary export permits from Zaire customs before finalizing the order.

Question 5

How does sourcing red onion differ from sourcing dried herbs in this category?

Accepted Answer

Red onions are fresh produce that require cold chain management and have a short shelf life. Dried herbs, often filed under Agriculture Products, are stable and require moisture control but not refrigeration. The inspection criteria differ significantly, with fresh produce focusing on visual quality and dried goods on moisture content and purity.

Question 6

What goes wrong if I source machinery under Agriculture Products?

Accepted Answer

Agriculture Products lists raw crops and processed food items, not equipment. Sourcing machinery here will yield irrelevant results or misclassified listings. Use the Agriculture Machinery & Equipment branch to find quotes for harvesters, tractors, or processing units. This ensures you get technical specifications and spare parts information.

Question 7

How do I tell if a Flower listing is for export from Zaire?

Accepted Answer

Flowers And Plants Related Products listings should specify the variety and cut length. Verify the exporter's ability to meet the phytosanitary requirements of your destination country. Zaire's climate supports specific flower varieties, but the listing must confirm the harvest location and handling protocols to ensure freshness upon arrival.
