How does the chemical assay of gold dust affect the payable price?

The payable price depends entirely on the purity percentage confirmed by the chemical assay. Buyers pay for the pure metal content, deducting for impurities like silver or base metals. A difference of one percent in assay can significantly alter the final settlement amount. Always request the latest assay report before agreeing to a price.

What radiation screening applies to scrap-contamination screening for gold bars?

Destination countries require proof that the gold bars are free from radioactive contamination. This screening is part of the broader scrap-contamination checks applied to all mineral imports. Sellers must provide documentation showing the lot passed these tests. Without this, the cargo will be rejected at the port of entry.

Why is a mineral export licence needed for raw gold exports?

A mineral export licence is mandatory for raw gold leaving Uganda. This document proves the extraction and sale comply with national mining regulations. Customs will not release the cargo without this specific permit. Buyers should verify the licence is valid and matches the shipment weight before payment.

How does a mill test certificate differ for manufactured metal products?

For manufactured Metal & Metal Products, the mill test certificate details the mechanical properties and chemical composition. It confirms the alloy standard designation meets the buyer's engineering specs. This is distinct from a simple assay, as it tests strength and ductility. Always request this certificate for structural or industrial applications.

When do quotes for gold bars expire due to index changes?

Quotes for gold bars expire quickly because the price is tied to the live London fix. A delay of even a few hours can change the value significantly. Sellers usually hold offers open for only a few days. Buyers must confirm the price and lock in the rate immediately after receiving the quote.

How does density affect container loading for gold versus aluminium?

Gold has a very high density, so weight limits are reached long before the container is full. Aluminium alloys are lighter, so volume may become the limiting factor. This stowage factor difference changes the shipping cost per kilogram. Buyers must calculate whether they are paying for weight or space.

What happens if the gold dust particle size distribution is wrong?

Incorrect particle size distribution can cause issues in smelting or refining processes. Fine dust may be lost during handling, while coarse lumps may not dissolve properly. Buyers must specify the required range in the enquiry. The seller should confirm their product matches this physical specification before shipment.
