How do ash and silica content change the price for Copper Ore?

High ash or silica acts as waste material that reduces the payable metal content. Buyers pay for the pure element, not the rock. A listing with lower impurities commands a higher price per tonne because less processing is needed at the smelter.

What is the difference between radiation screening and scrap contamination checks?

Radiation screening checks the natural background radiation levels of the mineral itself. Scrap contamination checks for foreign metal debris mixed in during mining. Both require separate verification steps before the cargo can clear customs at the destination port.

Why does a mill test certificate matter for Nickel Ore?

The mill test certificate proves the exact chemical composition and physical properties of the specific lot. It confirms that the material matches the grade stated in the contract. Without it, the buyer cannot verify the payable metal content before payment.

How does the stowage factor affect container selection for Phosphate Rock?

Phosphate Rock is dense and often fills a container by weight long before the volume is full. This forces the use of heavy-duty containers or break bulk ships. Choosing the wrong container type leads to overweight fines or rejected loads.

What happens if the mineral export licence is not in the dossier?

The cargo will be held at the Turkish port of exit. Customs officials will not release the goods without the valid licence issued by the relevant ministry. This causes immediate delays and potential demurrage charges while the paperwork is resolved.

How long can a seller hold a quote before it expires?

Quotes for Ores and Minerals are usually held for only a few days. The price is tied to a volatile index that changes daily. Sellers cannot guarantee a price for weeks because the market value of the metal shifts constantly.

Does particle size distribution impact the handling cost for Mineral Powder?

Yes, fine powders require specialized pneumatic or bagged handling to prevent dust loss. Coarser lumps can be handled with standard grabs. The required equipment at the destination port changes the unloading cost significantly based on the specified particle size.
