Question 1

How do you tell apart a Building Material & Equipment listing from a Glass & Ceramics Related Products listing?

Accepted Answer

Building Material & Equipment listings typically cover structural items like steel, concrete, or general hardware that do not require fragile handling. Glass & Ceramics Related Products listings describe brittle finishes that demand specific crating and insurance protocols. If a listing mentions thickness, opacity, or breakage risk, it belongs in the glass branch. Structural items focus on load bearing and dimensions rather than surface fragility.

Question 2

What happens if you search for structural steel in the Wood and Lumber branch?

Accepted Answer

You will encounter listings for timber, plywood, or engineered wood products that lack the metallurgical data required for steel. Wood and Lumber listings specify grain direction, moisture content, and treatment standards. Structural steel requires tensile strength and alloy composition data. Searching the wrong branch forces you to filter out irrelevant timber data that cannot support a steel structure.

Question 3

Which export documents does Turkey issue that affect Elevators & Escalators shipments?

Accepted Answer

Turkey issues specific commercial invoices and packing lists that must align with local customs declarations for heavy machinery. Elevators & Escalators require detailed technical manuals and safety certification documents for customs clearance. These papers must match the physical components exactly. Without the correct documentation chain, the shipment faces immediate holds at the destination port due to mismatched technical data.

Question 4

Why does a thin Heating Air Conditioner & Ventilation listing fail to state voltage ratings?

Accepted Answer

Many sellers list the unit type without specifying the electrical requirements for your site. Heating Air Conditioner & Ventilation systems operate on varying voltages and frequencies that must match your local grid. A listing that omits voltage, refrigerant type, or power consumption forces you to ask for these details. Without this data, you cannot verify if the unit will function in your facility.

Question 5

What specific data is missing from a thin Glass & Ceramics Related Products listing?

Accepted Answer

Thin listings often omit the exact thickness, tempering status, or glaze composition of the materials. Glass and ceramics require precise dimensional tolerances and surface finish specifications. A seller might list a generic product name without stating the allowable variance in size or the specific fire rating. You must request the full technical sheet to ensure the material meets your structural or aesthetic requirements.

Question 6

How do you verify if a Wood and Lumber listing meets your moisture requirements?

Accepted Answer

Wood and Lumber listings must state the current moisture content percentage to prevent warping or fungal growth. You must check if the timber has been kiln-dried or air-dried to your specific standard. A listing that only states the wood species without the moisture level is incomplete. You need to confirm the treatment history and drying method before ordering to avoid structural failure after installation.

Question 7

What packing difference matters for Glass & Ceramics Related Products versus Building Material & Equipment?

Accepted Answer

Glass and ceramics require rigid crating with shock-absorbing materials to prevent breakage during transit. Building Material & Equipment like steel beams uses standard palletizing or bulk loading. If a glass listing does not specify crating standards, the material is at high risk. You must verify that the seller uses industry-standard packaging for fragile items to ensure the goods arrive intact.
