Question 1

How do I distinguish between Building Material & Equipment and Glass & Ceramics Related Products?

Accepted Answer

Building Material & Equipment typically covers structural components like steel beams, rebar, concrete mixers, or heavy machinery used on site. Glass & Ceramics Related Products includes windows, doors, tiles, and sanitary ware that are finished or semi-finished architectural elements. If you are sourcing items that form the skeleton or frame of a structure, choose the first branch. If you need surface finishes or transparent elements, choose the second. Mixing them up leads to quotes for incompatible materials.

Question 2

What happens if I search for Pipes in the wrong sub-category?

Accepted Answer

Pipes often appear in Building Material & Equipment if they are structural or part of the plumbing infrastructure. However, if they are specialized HVAC ducts, they might be in Heating, Air Conditioner & Ventilation. Searching in the wrong branch means you will see unrelated items like cement bags or window frames. You will waste time filtering out noise instead of finding the specific pipe material, diameter, and pressure rating you need for your project.

Question 3

What is specific about sourcing from Sweden for HVAC units?

Accepted Answer

Sweden has a strong manufacturing base for heating and ventilation systems due to its climate. Sellers here often list units with specific thermal ratings suitable for cold climates. When sourcing from Sweden, check if the equipment meets the energy efficiency standards required in your destination market. The listing should state the cooling and heating capacity, as well as the refrigerant type used in the system.

Question 4

Why do listings for Guardian Pumpcase lack technical depth?

Accepted Answer

A listing for a Guardian Pumpcase might focus on the brand name rather than the flow rate, pressure head, or motor power. These are critical specifications for any pumping system. If the listing omits the pump curve or material of construction, you cannot determine if it suits your application. Always ask for the technical datasheet if the listing title is the only detail provided.

Question 5

How do varying unit measurements for drywall or insulation influence the final cost?

Accepted Answer

Construction goods from Sweden are often sold by the ton, pallet, or bundle. A quote per ton might seem cheaper than a quote per pallet, but you must factor in packaging weight and volumetric space. Freight forwarders calculate charges based on volume or weight, whichever is greater. Knowing the unit of sale helps you compare the actual cost per usable unit, including packaging waste.

Question 6

What paperwork does Sweden provide for export of steel?

Accepted Answer

Sweden provides standard export documentation for steel products, including a commercial invoice, packing list, and bill of lading. Depending on the steel grade, you may also need a mill test certificate to verify the chemical composition and mechanical properties. Ensure the seller provides these documents before shipment, as they are required for customs clearance and quality verification in your destination country.

Question 7

Why is the posting date critical for thin inventory in Construction & real estate?

Accepted Answer

Inventory in this category is often thin and specific to current project needs. A listing might appear available but the goods could have been sold or moved to another buyer. The posting date indicates how recent the offer is. If a listing is weeks old, the seller may no longer have the stock. Always verify availability immediately after seeing a relevant listing.
