Question 1

How does the stem length listed for Ajwah Dates compare to Medjool Dates?

Accepted Answer

This question is invalid for Flowers And Plants Related Products. Ajwah Dates and Medjool Dates are not flowers or plants related products in this context. They are agricultural food items. The grading standards for stem length and bloom stage at cut do not apply to dried dates. Buyers should look for moisture content and sugar levels instead. The physical reality of flowers involves perishable stems and petals. Dates are shelf-stable. Do not mix these categories when evaluating quality metrics on this page.

Question 2

What specific bloom stage at cut is required for export?

Accepted Answer

The bloom stage at cut determines the vase life available to the end user. Exporters typically list whether the product is in bud, half-open, or fully open. A tighter bloom stage extends the usable days after arrival. Buyers must check if the listing specifies the stage. This detail is critical because it directly impacts how many days the product remains viable in the destination market. Missing this detail makes comparison impossible.

Question 3

Does the phytosanitary certificate need to list the botanical name?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the phytosanitary certificate must state the exact botanical name. Destination plant-health rules require this precision to assess the pest interception risk. If the name on the certificate does not match the commercial invoice, customs will hold the cargo. The certificate serves as proof that the cargo is free from specific pests. Buyers should verify this alignment before confirming any booking. A mismatch here causes immediate rejection at the border.

Question 4

How does the booking window affect the price validity?

Accepted Answer

The product has days, not months, so the booking is the deal. Prices for Flowers And Plants Related Products shift with flight availability. A quote is only valid for the specific shipping window agreed upon. Once the flight departs or the harvest window closes, the price changes. Buyers must secure the booking to lock in the rate. Delaying confirmation exposes them to freight cost increases.

Question 5

What proof of cold chain integrity is needed?

Accepted Answer

Buyers should request temperature logs from the origin to the destination. An unbroken cold chain is non-negotiable for maintaining product integrity during transit. The logs prove that the cargo remained within the required temperature range. Without this data, the buyer cannot verify that the product arrived in good condition. This proof protects against spoilage claims and ensures the grade remains consistent from farm to final destination.

Question 6

Why is the grading count per bunch important?

Accepted Answer

The grading count per bunch defines the quantity of stems included. This metric directly impacts the value proposition of the listing. A lower count per bunch may indicate higher quality stems. Buyers must compare this count across listings to ensure they are comparing like with like. It is a standard trade term used to normalize pricing. Without this number, the unit price is meaningless for comparison purposes.

Question 7

How does the variety affect the destination plant-health rules?

Accepted Answer

Different varieties may be subject to different pest interception risks. The destination plant-health rules often specify restrictions on certain botanical varieties. Buyers must check if the listed variety is permitted entry. The phytosanitary certificate must reflect the correct variety to avoid rejection. This detail is specific to the product and cannot be generalized. Confirming the variety is a critical step before ordering.
