Question 1

How do I distinguish between a Books listing and a Magazines listing in this branch?

Accepted Answer

Books listings typically specify binding type and ISBN, while Magazines focus on circulation frequency and distribution regions. A seller filing under Books might actually be offering back issues of periodicals, which require different storage conditions. Check the description for page count and paper gloss level to determine if it is a serial publication or a bound volume. This distinction matters because magazines often have shorter shelf lives and different handling requirements during transit.

Question 2

What specific data is missing from a Balsa wood listing that prevents a valid quote?

Accepted Answer

Balsa wood requires specific gravity and grain direction details to determine load-bearing capacity and suitability for construction. A generic listing often omits whether the wood is graded for light or heavy use. Without knowing the moisture content, the wood may warp during transit. You must ask for the density class and whether the boards are kiln-dried or air-dried to ensure they meet your structural needs.

Question 3

Why does a Canvas Paintings listing lack stretcher bar details?

Accepted Answer

Sellers often list the canvas fabric weight but omit the frame material, which affects shipping volume and damage risk. Stretcher bars made of pine may splinter, while metal frames are more durable but heavier. Ask if the frames are pre-assembled or shipped flat, as this changes the packaging cost and handling instructions. The absence of this detail means the landed cost calculation is incomplete.

Question 4

What packing difference exists for Paper & Paper Products compared to Fuel & Energy Resources?

Accepted Answer

Paper products require moisture-proof wrapping to prevent degradation from humidity during sea transit. Fuel products, if listed here, require hazardous material declarations and specific tank container specifications. Paper is often palletized and shrink-wrapped, while fuel requires certified containment. Confusing these packing methods leads to improper handling and potential spoilage or safety violations at the destination port.

Question 5

How do I verify if a Fitness Equipment listing specifies weight tolerances?

Accepted Answer

Fitness Equipment requires exact weight tolerances to ensure the machinery operates safely under load. A listing may show a machine but omit the maximum user weight capacity. This specification is critical for safety compliance and structural integrity. Ask the seller for the load test reports or manufacturer specifications that define the safe operating limits of the equipment.

Question 6

What goes wrong if I source Cured Vanilla Pods under Medical & HealthCare?

Accepted Answer

Cured Vanilla Pods are agricultural commodities that require moisture content and pod length specifications, not medical sterility. Filing them under Medical & HealthCare is a categorization error that hides their true nature. You would miss critical details about curing methods and essential oil content. Always search for agricultural goods in their correct branch to ensure you receive the right quality parameters.

Question 7

How do I distinguish between Automobile & Auto Accessories and other branches?

Accepted Answer

Automobile & Auto Accessories listings must include part numbers and vehicle compatibility codes. Other branches lack these technical identifiers. If a listing does not specify which vehicle model the part fits, it is likely misfiled. Verify the part number against your inventory system before enquiring, as generic descriptions will not ensure the part matches your specific vehicle requirements.
