Question 1

How does the GSM of the outer fabric affect the durability of a briefcase?

Accepted Answer

GSM measures the weight of the fabric per square meter, which directly correlates with tear resistance and overall structural integrity. A higher GSM indicates a denser weave that can better withstand the abrasion of daily commuting or rough handling during transit. Buyers should compare GSM values across listings because two bags with identical names may have vastly different lifespans if one uses a lightweight liner and the other uses a heavy-duty shell. Always verify the GSM in the tech pack rather than relying on the product title.

Question 2

What specific labelling error causes delays for textile bags entering regulated markets?

Accepted Answer

The most common error is a mismatch between the fibre-content declaration on the tag and the actual material composition of the bag. Customs officials in strict markets will reject shipments if the care label does not accurately reflect the percentage of cotton, polyester, or nylon used. This discrepancy often arises when sellers use generic labels for multiple product lines. Ensure the seller provides a physical sample of the tag before bulk production to verify the text matches your destination's legal requirements exactly.

Question 3

Why do quotes for tactical Molle pouches expire faster than standard leisure bags?

Accepted Answer

Tactical gear like Molle phone pouches often requires specialized materials such as high-denier nylon or specific webbing that is subject to tighter supply constraints. Unlike leisure bags that may use standard canvas, tactical items often involve custom hardware or dye lots that are booked in advance. If the raw material window closes, the manufacturer cannot hold the price for the buyer. This makes the quote valid only for a very short period, unlike the more stable pricing seen in general-purpose bag categories.

Question 4

How does the carton cube change when switching from flat pack to hanging shipment?

Accepted Answer

Shipping bags in their natural shape rather than compressed flat increases the internal volume of each carton significantly. This rise in carton cube directly increases the volumetric weight charged by freight forwarders, which can double the shipping cost per unit if the container is not fully utilized. Buyers must calculate whether the convenience of hanging display outweighs the higher freight charges. Always ask the seller for the packed dimensions of both configurations to make an accurate landed cost comparison.

Question 5

What is the costliest mistake when ordering leather motorcycle accessories from Pakistan?

Accepted Answer

The most expensive error is assuming that a sample approval for a leather jacket or belt guarantees the same hide quality in the bulk order. Leather is a natural material, so grain patterns, thickness, and blemish rates can vary significantly between hides even from the same batch. If the buyer does not specify acceptable grain variations in the tech pack, the bulk shipment may be rejected by the destination retailer. This leads to costly returns or heavy discounts on the entire lot.

Question 6

How does the difference between a sample and the shipped lot impact acceptance?

Accepted Answer

Samples are often hand-finished with premium materials, while the bulk lot may use machine stitching or slightly different thread tension to maintain margins. For bags, this can mean the zipper alignment or strap attachment points are less precise in the final production run. Buyers should define clear tolerance levels for these construction variances in the approval stage. Without this, a batch that looks perfect in the sample photo may fail inspection at the destination due to minor but numerous construction inconsistencies.

Question 7

What role does the tech pack play in preventing sizing errors for bags?

Accepted Answer

The tech pack provides the exact measurements for each size grade, which is critical because bag sizing is not standardized across manufacturers. A medium backpack from one factory may have a different volume capacity than another factory's medium due to different pattern drafting. Relying on generic size charts leads to inventory mismatches where products do not fit the intended use case. The tech pack ensures that every unit produced matches the specific dimensions required for your retail display or functional needs.
