Question 1

How does moisture content in Wood and Lumber listings affect structural use?

Accepted Answer

Moisture content determines whether timber is suitable for framing or decorative finish. Listings in the Wood and Lumber branch must state the current moisture percentage because it dictates shrinkage and stability. A buyer sourcing for structural framing requires a specific dryness level that decorative items do not. Checking this value prevents warping after installation in your destination.

Question 2

What packing difference separates Glass & Ceramics from Building Material & Equipment?

Accepted Answer

Glass and ceramics require rigid crate packing to prevent breakage during transit, whereas hardware like steel bolts does not. A listing in Glass & Ceramics Related Products often omits packing details because damage risk is the primary cost driver. You must ask for packing specifications immediately, as standard carton packaging will fail for brittle items.

Question 3

Why are Straw Pellets listed under Construction & real estate in Lithuania?

Accepted Answer

Straw pellets serve as biomass fuel for heating systems in buildings, linking them to the real estate infrastructure. They are filed here because they replace traditional fossil fuels in construction site heating or building maintenance. This usage distinguishes them from agricultural feed, requiring different storage and handling protocols for moisture control.

Question 4

What distinguishes Alternator Motor Scrap from new Building Material & Equipment?

Accepted Answer

Alternator Motor Scrap is end-of-life metal intended for recycling, not for installation in new structures. It falls under Building Material & Equipment due to its metallic composition and weight, but its value comes from material recovery, not function. Buyers must verify the alloy composition, as recycling value depends entirely on the metal mix.

Question 5

How does Panell molding differ from standard Wood and Lumber?

Accepted Answer

Panell molding refers to processed profiles used for trim and finish, not raw structural timber. It requires precise dimensional tolerances that raw logs do not. Listings for molding often specify the profile shape and surface finish, which are irrelevant for structural framing. Confusing the two leads to ordering the wrong dimensional accuracy.

Question 6

What export documentation does Lithuania issue for Wood and Lumber?

Accepted Answer

Lithuania issues phytosanitary certificates for timber exports to prove freedom from pests and disease. This document is mandatory for clearance in most destination countries and is specific to the Wood and Lumber branch. Buyers must request this certificate before payment, as its absence can cause the entire shipment to be rejected at the border.

Question 7

Which field on a row determines if Panell molding is ready for use?

Accepted Answer

The surface finish specification determines if the molding is ready for immediate installation or requires further treatment. Raw profiles need sanding or painting, while finished items are ready for glue. This detail is often missing from thin listings, so you must ask for the finish type to avoid unexpected processing costs at your site.
