How do I verify the CAS identity for Rubber Process Oil?

The CAS registry number is the primary identifier for the chemical structure. Buyers must match this against the safety data sheet to ensure the specific hydrocarbon blend matches their formulation. A mismatch in CAS identity indicates a different base stock, which alters the viscosity and aromatic content. Do not rely on the generic product name alone, as manufacturers often use trade names that obscure the exact chemical definition.

What impurity profile details matter for Alkyds Polyol Resins?

The acid value and hydroxyl number define the reactivity in your resin blend. Impurities like free monomers or water content directly impact the curing time and final film hardness. You need the full impurity profile to calculate how much excess catalyst your process requires. Without these numbers, you cannot predict the pot life of your mixture.

Why does the UN number change for Rubber Scrap?

The UN number depends on the treatment state of the scrap. Treated scrap that resists combustion may fall under a different class than untreated material. The packing group indicates the degree of danger, which determines the stowage requirements on the vessel. An incorrect UN number on the dangerous-goods declaration will result in immediate rejection by the shipping line.

How does packaging choice affect freight for Rar Resin?

Choosing between drum, IBC or ISO tank changes the volumetric weight significantly. Resins are often dense, so the container type dictates the number of pallets per container. ISO tanks allow for bulk loading without intermediate handling, reducing the risk of contamination. The freight cost is driven by the total cubic meters occupied by your chosen packaging format.

What happens if the safety data sheet lists a different UN number?

The carrier will refuse the booking if the dangerous-goods declaration does not match the safety data sheet exactly. This discrepancy suggests a change in the chemical formulation or a clerical error in the documentation. Resolving this requires the supplier to issue a corrected safety data sheet or a letter of indemnity. Delays at the port of loading are common when this mismatch is discovered.

How do I check the assay for Rubber Process Oil?

The assay is typically reported as the percentage of aromatic or naphthenic content. You must request the latest laboratory analysis certificate from the seller. This percentage determines the oil compatibility with your rubber compounds. A deviation of even one percent can alter the plasticizing effect in your final product, so the assay must match your technical specification sheet.

Why is dangerous-goods booking space the constraint?

Vessels have limited slots for hazardous cargo based on their certification and stowage plans. Rubber items often contain flammable solvents or resins that require special handling. Even if the product is in stock, you cannot ship it without a confirmed booking for the specific hazard class. This scarcity causes quotes to go stale faster than for general cargo.
