How does ash or silica content in Copper Granules affect the payable weight?

Impurities like ash or silica reduce the recoverable metal content in a batch. Smelters deduct these non-metallic materials from the gross weight when calculating payment. A listing that omits this specification hides the true payable weight, so buyers must request the assay report to avoid overpaying for slag.

What specific radiation screening applies to used Copper Wire Scrap entering strict markets?

Destination authorities require gamma-ray screening to detect any concealed radioactive sources within bales of wire scrap. Sellers must provide a certificate confirming the lot passed this test. Without it, the cargo is treated as high-risk and may be destroyed or returned at the buyer's expense.

Does the stowage factor of dense Copper Granules change the freight charge structure?

High-density granules often fill a container by weight before reaching its volume limit. This means freight is calculated based on tonnage rather than cubic meters. Buyers must confirm whether the seller offers break-bulk rates or if the container must be filled with lighter mixed scrap to maximize space.

Why is the mineral export licence mandatory for these Metal & Metal Products from France?

France classifies certain metal scrap streams as strategic resources requiring government authorization for export. The seller must hold a valid licence to ship the goods legally. Buyers cannot clear customs without seeing this document, as it proves the export complies with national resource management laws.

How does the mill test certificate verify the alloy grade of the metal?

The certificate provides a chemical breakdown of the lot, confirming elements like copper, zinc, or lead percentages. This data proves the material matches the alloy designation stated in the listing. Buyers use this report to ensure the scrap will melt correctly for their specific casting or extrusion needs.

Why do quotes for Printer Scrap expire so rapidly compared to bulk commodities?

Printer scrap contains mixed alloys and electronic components that do not trade on a single unified index. Pricing relies on real-time recovery values for copper, aluminum, and plastic fractions. These values fluctuate daily, so sellers keep quotes open for only a few days to manage risk.

What happens if the moisture content exceeds the limit in a Copper Scrap listing?

Excess moisture adds dead weight that the buyer pays for but cannot process. Smelters typically deduct the weight of water from the payable tonnage or charge a drying fee. Buyers should specify the maximum allowable moisture percentage in their enquiry to ensure the quoted price reflects net dry weight.
