How does the moisture content in an Aluminum Scrap listing affect the payable weight?

Moisture content is deducted from the gross weight before payment is calculated. Sellers often list the gross weight, but the contract price applies to the dry metal mass only. If the scrap contains excess water or oil, the buyer pays for nothing but waste. You must request a recent moisture analysis or specify a maximum limit in the enquiry to avoid overpaying for non-metallic content.

What specific screening does an ELMO Motor Scrap shipment face before destination entry?

Motor scrap faces strict radiation and scrap-contamination screening to ensure no hazardous insulating materials or mixed metals are present. Inspectors check for residual oil, plastic casings, or non-ferrous components that violate the declared grade. Failure to meet these standards results in the entire lot being rejected or subjected to costly decontamination fees at the destination port.

Why does a BOPP Printer Scrap listing require a specific alloy or standard designation?

The alloy or standard designation confirms the mechanical properties and chemical purity of the metal base. Without this designation, the buyer cannot determine if the scrap is suitable for their specific remelting process. The mill test certificate must align with the stated standard to prove the material meets the required tensile strength and composition limits.

What happens if the mineral export licence is missing for a Colombia metal products shipment?

The cargo cannot legally leave the port without a valid mineral export licence issued by local authorities. This document proves the shipment complies with national resource regulations and taxes. Shipping lines will refuse to book space for the container or break-bulk cargo if the licence is not presented during the booking confirmation stage.

How does the particle or lump size distribution impact the stowage factor for Aluminum UBC Scrap?

Smaller particles pack more densely, increasing the weight per cubic meter and potentially hitting the container's weight limit before volume is full. Larger lumps create voids, causing the container to fill by volume while remaining under the weight cap. The specific size distribution in the listing dictates which shipping constraint will apply to your freight costs.

What role does the ash or silica content play in the quality of this metal product?

Ash or silica content represents the non-metallic impurities that remain after melting. High levels of these impurities reduce the yield of the final cast product and increase slag removal costs for the smelter. Buyers set strict maximum limits for ash content in their purchase contracts to ensure the economic viability of the remelting operation.

Why must the enquiry specify the exact chemical assay for this Metal & Metal Products order?

The chemical assay defines the precise elemental composition of the alloy, which determines its market value and end-use suitability. A slight variation in copper or iron content can drastically change the price premium or discount applied to the base index. Without an exact assay, the seller cannot provide a binding quote that reflects the true value of the specific lot.
