Question 1

How do you distinguish Wet Blue Cow Hide from finished leather in the listings?

Accepted Answer

Wet Blue Cow Hide is an intermediate product that requires further tanning and finishing before it can be used in bags or garments. The listing must state the weight, grade, and curing method because the buyer is responsible for the final processing. If the seller lists it under Garment & Fashion Accessories without these details, the quote will be invalid for a buyer who needs to process the hide further.

Question 2

What specific data must a Nail Cosmetics listing include to be actionable?

Accepted Answer

A Nail Cosmetics listing must include the INCI name of the colorants and the shelf life. These items are regulated as cosmetics in most markets, so the ingredient list is the primary specification. Without the INCI name, you cannot determine if the product complies with your destination's chemical restrictions. The listing must also state the packaging size to calculate the correct freight cost.

Question 3

Why is Wet Blue Cow Hide often misfiled under Garment & Fashion Accessories?

Accepted Answer

Sellers often file Wet Blue Cow Hide under Garment & Fashion Accessories because the final product is a bag or shoe. However, the trade terms for wet blue hide are completely different from those for finished leather. A buyer looking for finished goods will receive a quote for raw hide, which they cannot use without further processing. Always check the material stage in the description.

Question 4

What is the key difference between sourcing Gems & Jewellery and Digital, Analog Watches & Clocks here?

Accepted Answer

Gems & Jewellery listings focus on carat weight, cut, and clarity, while Digital, Analog Watches & Clocks listings focus on movement type, battery life, and water resistance. The inspection and certification requirements are entirely different. You must open the correct branch because the specification vocabulary does not overlap. A quote for a watch cannot be compared to a quote for a diamond.

Question 5

What makes a Cosmetics Products listing from Brazil difficult to compare?

Accepted Answer

Cosmetics Products listings often omit the batch number and the manufacturing date. These details are critical for determining shelf life and regulatory compliance. Without them, you cannot calculate the effective expiry date upon arrival. Always ask for the manufacturing date and batch code in your first enquiry to ensure the product is fresh and compliant.

Question 6

Why does a Suitcases, Briefcases & Bags listing need material thickness data?

Accepted Answer

Suitcases, Briefcases & Bags listings must state the material thickness or denier because this determines durability and freight volume. A thin plastic shell breaks easily, while a thick one adds significant weight. The quote must reflect the correct material grade because the price per unit varies drastically with thickness. Do not assume all bags in this branch are equal.

Question 7

What is the one mistake buyers make when sourcing from Brazil in this category?

Accepted Answer

Buyers often assume a single seller can supply all sub-branches because they are grouped under Apparel and fashion accessories. This is false. A seller of Wet Blue Cow Hide cannot supply Nail Cosmetics. You must find a specialist for each sub-branch to get accurate quotes. Trying to bundle these items with one supplier will result in incomplete or incorrect pricing.
