Question 1

How do I decide between the Wood and Lumber branch and the Building Material & Equipment branch?

Accepted Answer

Decide based on whether the item is a raw or processed material or a mechanical device. Wood and Lumber listings typically involve Spruce Logs or similar timber that requires moisture content and grade verification. Building Material & Equipment listings cover mechanical hardware, pumps, or structural components that require technical specs like power ratings or load capacities. Do not mix these enquiries because the technical data fields are completely different.

Question 2

What goes wrong if I search for Spruce Logs in Building Material & Equipment?

Accepted Answer

You will miss the critical moisture content and grading fields that define the quality of the timber. The Building Material & Equipment branch is structured for mechanical or hardware items, so it lacks the specific data points needed to evaluate wood quality. A seller listing Spruce Logs in the wrong branch will likely provide a quote based on generic assumptions rather than your specific structural requirements, leading to mismatched expectations.

Question 3

What export paperwork is specific to goods leaving Belgium?

Accepted Answer

Belgium issues standard EU export documentation, but the specific certificate depends on the product type. Timber may require a phytosanitary certificate or a declaration of legal harvesting. Glass and ceramics might need specific packing declarations. You must ask the seller which exact export documents they prepare, as some items require additional checks before they can legally leave the EU customs territory.

Question 4

How does thin inventory in this category affect the listing details?

Accepted Answer

Listings in this category often lack detailed technical specifications because the inventory is not a large standardized pool. Sellers may omit critical details like exact dimensions, surface finish, or material composition. You should assume that any missing technical data is not available and must be explicitly requested in your enquiry rather than assumed to be standard.

Question 5

What is the actual difference between two Ncc Paper Waste listings?

Accepted Answer

The difference usually lies in the contamination level, fiber length, or density specifications that are not visible in the title. One listing might specify high-quality sorted paper while another includes mixed contaminants. You must compare the technical data fields for fiber content and moisture limits, as these factors drastically change the price and usability of the material.

Question 6

What critical detail do sellers habitually leave out of these listings?

Accepted Answer

Sellers often omit the exact location of the stock relative to the port of exit. They may list a price that assumes the goods are already at the quay, while in reality, they are in a remote yard. You must confirm the exact pickup location and whether the quoted price includes inland transport to the port, as this significantly impacts the landed cost.

Question 7

How does packing differ between Glass & Ceramics and Wood and Lumber?

Accepted Answer

Glass and ceramics require rigid, shock-absorbent packing to prevent breakage during transit, often involving wooden crates or specialized pallets. Wood and lumber typically use simple strapping or shrink wrap to keep bundles together. The inspection protocols differ because glass requires visual checks for cracks, while wood requires checks for moisture and insect infestation.
