How does the chemical assay of Scrap PET bale differ from general metal listings?

The chemical assay defines the purity and alloy composition, which directly impacts the melt value. For Scrap PET bale, the assay focuses on polymer integrity and contaminant levels rather than metallic purity. Buyers must verify the ash or silica content to ensure the material does not clog processing equipment during recycling.

What radiation and scrap-contamination screening applies to PMMA offcuts?

PMMA offcuts must pass radiation screening to ensure they are not contaminated with radioactive sources. Scrap-contamination screening checks for non-polymer debris that could damage extrusion lines. This screening is mandatory before the cargo clears the destination port, regardless of the material's origin.

Does OCC Waste Paper require a mineral export licence?

No, OCC Waste Paper is classified as paper waste, not a mineral. Therefore, it does not require a mineral export licence. However, it must still comply with general waste shipment regulations and destination country import rules for recycled paper products.

How does moisture content affect Aluminium Shredded Scrap pricing?

Moisture content reduces the net weight of the dry metal available for smelting. Sellers deduct the weight of the water from the total tonnage, which lowers the effective price per tonne of dry Aluminium. Buyers should request the dry weight equivalent to compare quotes accurately.

What fails after shipment if the mill test certificate is missing for Aluminium Plates?

The mill test certificate proves the alloy standard designation and mechanical properties of the Aluminium Plates. Without it, the destination port may reject the cargo for lacking proof of composition. The buyer could face significant demurrage charges and the cost of returning the non-compliant goods.

How does density impact container loading for Automobile Scrap?

The stowage factor and density decide whether weight or volume fills the box. Automobile Scrap is dense, so it often reaches the weight limit before the container is full. This requires careful calculation to maximize the tonnage per container and reduce the per-unit shipping cost.

Why do quotes for Aluminium Strips expire so quickly?

Quotes ride a live commodity index that updates continuously during trading hours. The price of Aluminium Strips is tied to the London Metal Exchange, which changes every second. Sellers hold offers open for only a few days to mitigate the risk of index fluctuations.
