Question 1

How do I distinguish between BOPP printed roll scrap and BOPP metalized when both appear under plastics?

Accepted Answer

The distinction lies in the surface treatment applied to the polymer film. Printed roll scrap retains ink layers from packaging, which may require different recycling processes than virgin film. Metalized BOPP contains a thin aluminum coating that affects melting points and contaminant levels during reprocessing. Buyers must ask for the specific coating percentage or ink composition to determine if the material fits their downstream machinery specifications.

Question 2

What material difference exists between ABS plastic scrap and ABS-PC regrind?

Accepted Answer

ABS plastic scrap consists of pure acrylonitrile butadiene styrene waste, often from injection molding runners or defective parts. ABS-PC regrind is a blended mix of ABS and polycarbonate, creating a material with different impact resistance and heat deflection temperatures. Using the wrong blend can compromise the structural integrity of final molded products. Sellers should declare the exact polymer ratio in the regrind to ensure compatibility with your production line.

Question 3

Why does Aluminium Wheels Scrap Rim require different handling than general extrusion scrap?

Accepted Answer

Aluminium Wheels Scrap Rim often contains residual brake dust, rubber, and steel components from tires and hubs. This contamination requires more intensive cleaning and separation before the metal can be remelted. General extrusion scrap is typically cleaner aluminum profiles with fewer foreign materials. Buyers need to know the contamination level to estimate the loss rate during the recycling process and the cost of pre-treatment.

Question 4

How does PU Foam scrap differ from Polyurethane Foam Scrap for reuse?

Accepted Answer

PU Foam scrap can vary significantly in density and whether it is rigid or flexible. Rigid foam is often used in insulation and has different chemical properties than flexible foam used in furniture. The term Foam Scrap for sale may imply post-consumer waste with potential contaminants like fabrics or adhesives. Buyers should request the foam type and density to ensure it matches their regrinding or chemical recycling capabilities.

Question 5

What specific inspection is needed for Medical Gown exports from this origin?

Accepted Answer

Medical Gowns require verification of their barrier properties and sterilization status if intended for healthcare use. Unlike general textiles, these items must meet specific fluid resistance and microbial limits defined by international health standards. Buyers must confirm if the gowns are sterile or non-sterile and check for compliance with destination-specific medical device regulations. The listing should state the material composition and any relevant safety certifications.

Question 6

What does a buyer miss if they only look at the title for Extrusion scrap?

Accepted Answer

The title Extrusion scrap describes the manufacturing process but not the alloy composition or temper. Different aluminum alloys have varying melting points and mechanical properties that affect recyclability. Without knowing the specific alloy series, a buyer cannot predict the quality of the resulting ingot. Sellers must provide the alloy grade and any known contaminants to allow for accurate value assessment.

Question 7

How do I verify the moisture content of scrap materials listed from Albania?

Accepted Answer

Moisture content directly impacts the net weight and processing cost of bulk scrap materials. Sellers often list gross weight, but buyers pay for dry material. A buyer should request a recent moisture analysis report from a third-party inspector at the loading port. This test determines the actual dry tonnage and prevents paying for water weight in materials like wood-based or cellulose-based scraps.
