How does the chemical assay of Aluminium UBC Scrap affect its value compared to general Aluminium Wheel Scrap?

The chemical assay reveals the precise concentration of magnesium, silicon, and copper in the aluminium scrap. Aluminium UBC Scrap typically has a different alloy composition than Aluminium Wheel Scrap, which often contains higher magnesium levels for structural strength. Buyers need to match the specific element percentages in the assay to their smelting or casting requirements. A mismatch in the alloy standard designation can render the scrap unsuitable for high-grade applications, reducing its market value significantly.

What specific documentation proves the Aluminium Extrusion Scrap meets destination radiation standards?

The mill test certificate is the primary document that confirms the material identity and basic chemical properties. However, for radiation screening, you often need a separate certificate of origin or a specific test report from an accredited laboratory. This report must detail the background radiation levels to ensure the scrap does not exceed the regulatory limits of the importing country. Without this specific data, the cargo may be held at the port for additional testing.

Why does the moisture content of Aluminium Casting Scrap influence the final price?

Moisture content adds dead weight to the shipment, which increases the shipping cost without contributing to the metal yield. Buyers pay for the actual metal content, so excess moisture reduces the effective price per tonne. The listing should state the moisture percentage, and the final price is often adjusted based on this figure. Dry scrap commands a premium because it requires less energy to process and does not incur penalty fees for weight.

How does the particle size distribution of Aluminium Can Scrap affect container loading?

The particle size distribution determines how densely the scrap can be packed inside a container. Smaller, shredded pieces fill voids more effectively than large, irregular chunks, maximizing the weight per container. If the scrap is too coarse, you may hit the volume limit before reaching the weight limit, increasing the landed cost per tonne. Buyers should ask for the average particle size to estimate the stowage factor accurately.

What is the risk if the mineral export licence is not secured before loading?

Without a valid mineral export licence from Albanian authorities, the cargo cannot legally leave the country. The shipment will be detained at the port of origin, incurring storage fees and demurrage charges. Additionally, the buyer may face customs delays or rejection in the destination country if the paperwork chain is incomplete. Securing this licence is a prerequisite for any legal export of these materials.

How does the ash content in Aluminium Scrap impact its smelting efficiency?

Ash content represents the non-metallic impurities that do not melt into the final alloy. High ash content reduces the yield of usable metal and increases the energy required for smelting. Buyers prefer scrap with low ash levels because it minimizes waste and processing costs. The listing should specify the ash percentage, as this directly affects the net recoverable value of the material.

What happens if the quoted price for Aluminium UBC Cans Scrap expires before payment?

Metal prices fluctuate daily based on global index movements, so a quote is only valid for a short window. If the price expires, the seller will likely issue a new quote at the current market rate. This can result in a higher cost for the buyer if the market has moved unfavorably. It is crucial to finalize the transaction quickly to lock in the agreed price and avoid renegotiation.
