Lemon grass

Lemongrass is a perennial crop that grows in tropical and subtropical regions. It produces a thick, leafy stem and shiny, narrow leaves similar to those of bamboo. The plant is easy to grow. Once established, it can stand up to environmental stress such as drought or flooding and still produce its aromatic leaves. Lemongrass is also very resilient withstanding poor soil conditions such as lack of water or fertility issues. It typically flowers once a year; however it can flower several times a year during dry seasons.
