It is a light yellow to green mobile liquid with a distinct floral camphor note. The density at 20°C ranges from 0.84 to 0.85 g/ml. One ml of oil is soluble in 50 ml of ethanol. GC/MS analysis shows alpha-pinene (5.5-5.8%), alpha-thujene (0.3-0.35%), alpha-fenchene (0.3-0.35%), camphene (0.85-0.95%), beta-pinene (1.1-1.2%), 1:8 cineole (18-19%), limonene (0.7-0.8%), alpha-terpinene (0.2-0.3%), carene (0.9-1.2%), and camphor (0.35-0.55%). The scent is herbaceous and floral with a distinct camphoraceous note. Leleshwa blends well with lavender, geranium, sandalwood, frankincense, cedarwood, ginger, clove, and pine. The distillation process uses Leleshwa wood and charcoal to fuel the boiler with low steam pressure for a longer distillation period.
